HIATUS ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello to all Seijoh fans! We are sorry for the long silence and delay in bringing this message forward. Unfortunately, due to the personal irl circumstances of a few of the mods, we have decided that a hiatus would be in the best interest of the zine until all the mods are available to dedicate their 100% to this project once again. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we hope to return soon with a quality project.

Picture this:

It's 2012. You're a student enrolled in Aoba Johsai High, but the year is almost over. You cough up some money to get a yearbook. The theme this year is retro; the cover looks super sick! You excitedly flip through it, but...

UM?? WHY IS THIS ENTIRE BOOK ONLY FEATURING THOSE VOLLEYBALL TEAM GUYS?!

no matter the inordinate list of things that the haikyuu!! fandom can argue on, we can all come together at the end of the day to agree that we were ROBBED OF SEIJOH CONTENT. and so, in response to this injustice... tada!! seijoh yearbook fanzine was born!!

whaddya say we give our favorite boiz the corny 90's american high school sitcom they deserve, eh? (ღˇᴗˇ)。o

Aoba Johsai High Yearbook 2012 is an epistolary fanzine.

a comprehensive content description/outline will be provided if/when we move forward from the interest check.

our mission with the aoba johsai high yearbook 2012: a haikyuu!! fanzine + community project (abbr. seijoh yearbook) is to create a collaborative experience. we hope our final product will be rewarding to both contributors who will know they poured their heart into it, and to supporters who were able to follow along and guide us on the journey.

we have witnessed and even experienced the process of creators becoming disheartened and overwhelmed by deadlines, by the idea of needing to define success in numbers, etc. that's why we hope that everybody involved in making this project happen will be able to have a fun, engaging experience with us.

fanzines should be creative + fun, not stressful. we believe that fanzines are about building a community, making friends, and collaborating on something you love with people you love.

we hope to achieve this internally through:
1. heavily collaborative pieces
2. regular internal social engagement
3. open channels for communication, feedback and suggestions
4. individually catered deadlines and mod follow-ups

and externally through:
1. consistent community updates
2. open community voting and content suggestions
3. open contests and engagement projects
4. an affordable, quality end product
and more to be discovered along the way!

any further questions about the mission statement can be addressed through dms.

hi! I'm kurise, I'm currently obsessing over cheesecakes and so I'm spending most of my free time (away from fandom events and uni) watching cooking videos on how to make them. aside from that, I'm super looking forward for this zine!

hi! you can check my current projects and positions here.

please note that while in the interest check phase, many project details are unconfirmed +/or subject to change. thank you!

what is a fanzine?
a fanzine is a printed work which is created + published entirely by fans! fanzines are typically composed of multiple pieces of art + writing.

will ships be allowed?
we are allowing our contributors to create content with implied romance! ultimately, however, the completed fanzine will be explicitly platonic, albeit subject to multiple interpretations. +

will there be spoilers?
the seijoh yearbook fanzine will (technically) be canon-compliant. however, the large majority of the content will focus on aspects of school life unrelated to volleyball-- much like a real yearbook!
regardless, we recommend for hq! fans who have not yet finished the high school arc to be aware of the possibility of spoilers.

how will contributors be compensated?
at minimum, all contributors will receive a complimentary printed copy of the final product with free shipping.
contributor compensation is this project's priority. we will likely enact fundraising/crowdsourcing campaign(s) during the creation period.
